The department currently has 10 core faculty, 14 postdoctoral fellows and research associates, 17 graduate students and 11 administrative staff members representing diverse academic training and interests.
As one of the first departments in the field of computational biology in the nation, the faculty strive to establish a successful model for cross-disciplinary research by collablorating with experimentalists and theoreticians alike. Thus, in addition to its core faculty, the department has 16 joint faculty based in various schools and departments throughout the university.
